The Single Parent​

Rachel, a single mom, married Mike, who also had a child from a previous marriage. They were happy until Mike reconnected with his ex-wife, Jessica. Jessica needed help with their child, and Mike started spending more time with her. Rachel noticed Mike was distant, and she found out he’d been having an affair with Jessica. Rachel was hurt—she’d thought Mike was committed to their family. She talked to Mike, who said he felt guilty about Jessica and their child. Rachel tried to be understanding, but she couldn’t stay in a marriage where Mike was torn between two women. They separated, with Rachel focusing on her child and moving forward.​

My First Robot Kit

My birthday gift this year was a robot kit, and building it was both challenging and exciting. The box had hundreds of parts and a thick instruction manual. At first, I got frustrated when the gears didn’t fit, but my dad taught me to read the diagrams carefully. We spent two weekends working on it—screwing pieces together, connecting wires, and programming its movements. When I pressed the “start” button and the robot moved forward, I jumped with joy. It can follow a black line and blink its lights. I took it to school for the science fair, and my classmates gathered around to watch. The robot kit taught me that patience and teamwork make even hard things possible.
