My Favorite Sport: Table Tennis

Table tennis is my favorite sport. I started playing with my dad when I was 8 years old. At first, I couldn’t hit the ball more than once. Dad said, “Keep your eye on the ball and move your arm fast.” I practiced every evening after homework. Now I can play a whole game with my dad. I joined the school’s table tennis club last year. We practice every Tuesday and Thursday. Our coach, Mr. Wang, teaches us new skills—like the backhand and the spin. Last month, I competed in a table tennis tournament. I won two games and lost one. I got a medal for “Most Improved Player.” Playing table tennis is fun and good exercise. It makes my hands and eyes work together. When I’m stressed about school, playing table tennis helps me relax. I want to get better so I can join the city’s table tennis team. Maybe I’ll become a table tennis champion someday.
